Dublin, Ireland’s capital city, is a vibrant cosmopolitan city with a population of one and a half million. The city is the centre of Ireland’s political, diplomatic, administrative and commercial life and the main travel hub for the country’s road, rail and air transport network. Dublin’s busy international airport has numerous daily flights to the UK, Europe and world-wide destinations.

The city, with its Viking heritage, has a rich legacy of historical and archeological artefacts which can be viewed in the city’s many museums. Dublin has a rich cultural and artistic tradition with numerous theatres, art galleries and cinemas. The city is also known for its excellent restaurants, which contribute to the city’s lively social scene. Dublin’s Phoenix Park is the largest enclosed public park in Europe and the scenic Wicklow mountains, famous Glendalough round tower and beautiful beaches of Ireland’s east coast are only a short distance away.

Dublin’s reputation as an international commercial centre has flourished, and a large number of global pharmaceutical, IT and software companies have based their European headquarters here. Examples include Facebook, Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Many national and international sporting events are held in Dublin and the city hosts a wide range of music festivals and concerts.
